How to Get Kahoot Answers: 3 Free Methods That Work in 2026
Updated October 19, 2026 · 7 min read
There is no secret answer key you can download for a live Kahoot game. The answers live inside the quiz, and the game only reveals the correct one after everyone has answered. So “getting Kahoot answers” really means one of three things.
Below are the three methods that work, what each one is good for, and how to handle every question type, from simple multiple choice to image questions and type-answer.
The three methods at a glance
| Method | Best for | Works on private quizzes? | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Look up the public kahoot | Popular quizzes your teacher reused from Kahoot’s library | No | Minutes of searching, before the game |
| 2. AI answer extension (KQH) | Any quiz, live, question by question | Yes, if the question shows on your screen | About a second per question |
| 3. Learn from the reveals | Quizzes that get replayed or assigned again | Yes | Only pays off next time |
Method 1: Find the quiz in Kahoot’s public library
Many teachers don’t write their own quizzes; they pick a popular public kahoot. If you know the quiz title (it is shown on the lobby screen before the game starts), search for it in Kahoot’s Discover library and open the quiz preview: it lists the questions, and for most public kahoots you can reveal which answers are correct.
- Works when: the quiz is public and you can recognize it by its title or cover image.
- Fails when: the teacher wrote the quiz or kept it private, edited a copy, or the title is generic (“Chapter 4 review”).
- Watch out: answer order can be shuffled in the game, so memorize the answer text, not the color.
Method 2: Use an AI answer extension during the game
An answer extension reads each question as it appears on kahoot.it and highlights the most likely answer. Because it works from the question itself, it does not matter whether the quiz is public, private or written that morning.
KQH is the extension we build. It runs in Chrome on a computer, needs a free account, and typically answers in about a second. It highlights the answer and shows a confidence score; you still choose and click.
The one requirement
Method 3: Learn from the answer reveals
After every question Kahoot shows the correct answer on the host screen. Teachers often replay a quiz before a test or assign the same kahoot as homework, so noting the reveals the first time is a legitimate way to have the answers the second time, and it is the only method that also helps on the actual test.
Getting answers for each question type
| Question type | What you get with KQH |
|---|---|
| Quiz (multiple choice) | The most likely option is highlighted |
| True / false | True or false is highlighted |
| Multi-select | Every option the AI believes is correct is highlighted |
| Image questions | The picture is analyzed too; counts as two answers from your allowance |
| Type answer | A suggested answer is shown as text for you to type |
| Puzzle (ordering) and slider | A suggested order or value is shown as text |
| Poll, word cloud, open-ended, brainstorm | Nothing to find: these have no correct answer |
Why answers sometimes don’t show
Still stuck? The tutorial walks through setup with screenshots.
- You only see colored shapes. The question is not on your device (see the requirement above).
- You are on a phone. Chrome extensions only work on a computer.
- You are not signed in. Open the KQH popup and sign in; the free plan is enough.
- The page was open before you installed. Refresh kahoot.it once after installing the extension.
- You used today’s free answers. They refresh every day at midnight UTC, or you can invite friends for bonus answers.
